What to expect: Each session will run approximately one hour, and the focus is a full body approach to therapeutic stretching. We will incorporate some breath work throughout the session to further encourage the muscles to relax and increase circulation. You will learn therapeutic stretches to take with you day by day, to address problem areas that may be feeling tight. My goal is to create and maintain a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, and have your body and mind feeling relaxed when you leave. All you have to bring is your yoga mat, your water bottle, and wear some comfy clothes. *gentle reminder: stretching should always feel gentle and tension relieving, but never painful. The stretch should be stopped upon any onset of pain as this could result in damaging the muscles. Physical Benefits of Stretching: -improved flexibility & range of motion, making daily activities and exercise easier. -increases circulation, increased blood flow to muscles and joints. -reduce muscle stiffness & tension, lowering risks of cramps and soreness. -supports posture by counteracting the effects of sitting or standing for long periods of time. -reduce the risk of injury -promotes faster recovery In addition to many physical benefits, stretching is also known to relieve stress by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, calming both the mind and body. It may also help release endorphins (the body’s natural pain reliever & mood elevator), boost mindfulness, awareness to how your body feels, and your overall wellbeing.
